Designing a more supported autism care journey. NuroLux connects personal assessments, practical next steps, and care information in an experience built around the person using it.
01 / Design context
The project brief describes a journey fragmented across assessments, documents, services, and everyday decisions. The design challenge was to bring these parts together while recognising that people arrive with different responsibilities, levels of confidence, and support needs.
Parent or caregiver
A parent supporting a child needs a reassuring introduction, a way to organise information, and a clear view of what needs attention.
Self-advocating adult
An adult managing their own journey needs language and tasks centred on personal goals, practical skills, and independence.
Caregiver of an adult
A caregiver supporting an adult needs a path through changing responsibilities, daily support, and longer-term planning.
The experience connects a personal starting point with an assessment, a readable summary, and practical actions that can be revisited over time.
02 / Visual identity
The visual direction pairs a clear white canvas with expressive navy headings and energetic action gradients. The design brief calls for a supportive, human tone; the current prototype carries that intent through typography, photography, generous spacing, and distinctive corner shapes.
A recognisable welcome across the whole journey.

Clear body text and interface labels
Shape + action
Gradient actions and an asymmetric corner create a consistent visual signature.
03 / A personal starting point
Role selection comes early, giving the product a way to speak to a parent, an adult, or a caregiver of an adult. Account setup is presented as a visible sequence, with consent information beside the form and help available in the same context.

The welcome screen previews the coming steps and explains why the assessment matters. Progress and estimated effort make the experience easier to anticipate.
The role chosen at entry informs the onboarding and assessment content, keeping the journey relevant to different life stages.
04 / Assessment experience
The assessment gives each question a clear reading area, while section navigation and save status keep the wider journey visible. A labelled confidence scale makes room for uncertainty, and Save & Exit gives people a way to pause and return.

Orientation
A section strip shows the topic currently being explored and keeps the broader assessment structure close at hand.
Expression
Response labels give meaning to the scale. The interface includes a neutral response and an explicit not-applicable option.
Continuity
Auto-save feedback and a visible exit action acknowledge that a meaningful assessment may take more than one sitting.

The report moves from a prominent summary into structured explanations and recommendations. Consistent headings and gradient dividers make a long document easier to navigate.
A downloadable format supports revisiting the information beyond the current session.
05 / From understanding to action
The dashboard places a recommended action ahead of the wider task list, with the readiness summary and alerts nearby. The care-plan view then expands that overview into grouped tasks, priorities, and progress, linking reflection with practical follow-through.

The overview gives one task prominence. The detailed plan retains the wider set of actions through topic groups, priority filters, and visible completion states.
Expandable task content supports scanning first and reading more when the person is ready to act.
06 / Information and coordination
Care information is only useful when it can be found and understood. The Notebook combines a document overview with filters and status labels, while document detail surfaces extracted fields for review. A separate care-team view makes account relationships and invitations visible.

A document preview sits beside extracted fields, confidence labels, and links to profile information. The design makes review part of the document workflow.

Primary and secondary roles, active members, and pending invitations help explain who is connected to the account.
07 / Support and continuity
The responsive task view preserves the next action and progress on a smaller screen. A care-coach panel offers contextual prompts alongside the current page. Together, these surfaces explore how the experience can stay useful between longer planning sessions.
Mobile / task-focused navigation

Suggested questions lower the effort of starting a conversation. The panel keeps the underlying page in view so support stays connected to the task at hand.

Experience principle
01
Role-aware language and a clear introduction give different audiences a relevant path into the product.
02
Assessment, summary, dashboard, and care plan form a continuous journey from reflection to practical next steps.
03
Save states, organised documents, visible progress, and responsive layouts support an experience used over time.
