Designing a mobile workspace for music creators, from capturing an idea to organising a release. Ainsemble connects songboards, AI-assisted assets, project planning, collaboration, and audience insights in one creative workflow.
01 — Product context
Ainsemble brings together the creative and operational parts of making music. An artist can collect inspiration, develop assets, organise songs and albums, prepare a release, work with collaborators, and explore audience data through a connected mobile experience.
Creative work arrives in different forms: an audio sketch, an image, a lyric, or a generated idea. As that material becomes a project, the interface also needs to accommodate versions, people, metadata, deadlines, and performance data.
Give each activity a clear home while preserving the relationship between them. Songboards collect inspiration; project stages organise progress; focused sheets handle individual tasks; contextual assistance helps the creator interpret and continue the work.
01
Capture inspiration and explore the first direction.
02
Develop songs, assets, and a working project.
03
Plan distribution, engagement, and launch tasks.
04
Read audience signals and revisit the creative work.
02 — Visual design
Dark navy surfaces let album art, photography, waveforms, and charts carry the visual energy. Coral accents mark AI and key actions, while violet distinguishes the add controls. Clear headings, rounded cards, and consistent spacing organise rich content without making every item compete for attention.

03 — UI / UX design
The first-use screen explains what a songboard can hold and gives the creator a visible starting point. Once populated, the board brings audio, video, images, and lyrics into a shared card system. Previews, timestamps, and item actions help distinguish the material while keeping it connected to the same idea.
Lyrics use a different editing pattern from media previews. The structure selector and named sections give the writer a scaffold for composing, while audio capture focuses on the waveform, elapsed time, and playback controls. Each format gets the controls suited to its task.
Capture the moment
04 — AI experience
AI starts with an explicit creative brief: keywords and mood for song ideas, or a prompt and media type for a specific asset. The results can be viewed, regenerated, and saved to a chosen songboard. Generation therefore sits within the creative workflow as material to evaluate and organise.
The designs also account for work happening in the background. “Generating…” labels, completion actions, and a background-generation notice communicate different states. These cues explain what is underway without requiring the creator to remain on a single screen.
Generation labels show which output is still being prepared.
View and regenerate actions support evaluation of the result.
A title and songboard choice give the asset a reusable place.
“Keep the creative thread intact, from the first idea to a release.”
05 — Project experience
Projects show the lifecycle through distinct Ideate, Produce, Release, and Live states. Artwork and track counts help the creator recognise a project; stage labels explain where it stands. Within a project, Journey, Songs, and Metadata separate progress, content, and descriptive information.
Release planning turns the next phase into specific decisions: a date, distribution, engagement, and metadata. The wider flow includes task completion, deadlines, overdue work, and launch timing. The design makes these operational details part of the project rather than a disconnected planning tool.
Artwork, track counts, and explicit status give each project a clear identity.
Release date, distribution, engagement, and metadata form a focused planning checklist.
06 — Collaboration & engagement
Sharing an asset is a deliberate action: search for people, select recipients, review their roles, and set their access. The wider people and team views preserve those relationships across the workspace. This makes collaboration visible alongside the creative material it supports.
The Engage view presents audience information through labelled charts, platform context, legends, and timestamps. Contextual Ask support gives the creator a way to question the meaning of a graph. The interface connects data with interpretation, rather than leaving every chart to explain itself.
People, roles, selection, and access are visible before sharing.
The illustrated chart values are sample interface content; the case study focuses on their presentation and interpretation.
07 — Key takeaways
The design links inspiration, generated assets, writing, project progress, release preparation, collaboration, and engagement through a consistent mobile language. Focused task views sit within that larger structure, giving each part of the music-making process a clear place.
Mixed-media songboards collect the source material for an idea and provide a home for generated outputs.
Project states, release inputs, and explicit generation feedback show where the work is and what can happen next.
Sharing permissions and contextual questions bring collaboration and interpretation closer to the work.
